Bobby V was born Robert Wilson in February of 1980. He grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Tony! Toni! Tone! and Marvin Gaye. V experienced limited success as a member of the R&B youth quartet Mista as early as 1996. He temporarily gave up his music dreams to pursue a college degree in Mass Communications. In 2002, he auditioned for the first season of American Idol, but left without a golden ticket to Hollywood.
Confidence unwavering, he managed to get his demo tapes to the ears of Puff Daddy and Ludacris. After signing with Disturbing Tha Peace Records, he was featured on Ludacris' 2004 album and released his own first album, "Bobby Valentino," in 2005.
His first single, "Slow Down," became a top 10 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 R&B song. He released his second album in 2007 and returned to his Mississippi high school for the very first episode of MTV's Once Upon A Prom.
V has released a total of five albums through 2012. In April 2013 he announced that he is working on a new project, Vitamin V The Live Album.
